The world which came to a break around March has become used to the new lifestyle. We all have attended millions (if not gazillions!) of webinars on how to manage work from home and whatnots. Nevertheless, just in case you are on the endless wait to go back to your office, or you’re one of those people who still ‘misses’ the office, we are here with bad news. The trend, which it was, of working from home looks like it is going to stay!

Here are the top three factors why you should stop missing your office, and living your work already:

a. The Pioneer factor!

2 (1) The life which began as a solution to the new situation of the pandemic seems like resonating quite well for the pioneers in the industry. The big players of software industry such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter have recently announced that employees might have to remain at their homes forever!

While this discussion is rounded up to mid of 2021, speculations say that jobs are highly likely to remain remote, unless otherwise required.

A recent major league player to announce the WFH to be a permanent state is Atlassian. Yes, you got that right, the baby company which took over the world, thanks to its collaborating platforms!

b. The inclusion factor!

3 (1) No one is unknown how flexible work was already in the discussion. Whether you are a single parent, a multiple job runner, a person taking care of sick parents, or a victim of workplace harassment — you needed the flexible system to sustain and grow. The pandemic brought relief to all the questions which were led by these factors, and we have a new normal! Employees from disadvantaged as well as tricky situations have mentioned and acknowledged how WFH had been a boon to them while increasing productivity.

Another dialogue that has emerged in the inclusion section is communication. Employees who struggled with face-to-face communication during the physical office time (was not that ages ago?), have been finding new confidence and thus the communication has gotten stronger! Even diagonal communication among employees of different sections and different hierarchical levels have increased, positively effecting productivity!

c. The cost factor!

4 (1)

Have you ever imagined how your office infrastructure plays a role in your work?

If you have not, let us clear that up. It is one of the most crucial factors!

Furthermore, now since you know, try calculating the cost companies have to pay to maintain those friendly workspaces. Reports show that offices of companies have high budgets and maintenance costs. To add on, they have to keep innovating it, which further adds to the cost.

Keeping all these facts in mind, you should find it entirely plausible that WFH is a win-win situation for many employees, and it is for the company.

While the new normal is not that new anymore, and it is here to stay, it has its own set of disadvantages. Look out for our next post where we will highlight three factors that will weigh you down while Working from Home!
