Much talk has been going around in the software industry about this significant gap in the education and the employability of the students. Now, since we have been in this industry for some time now, we thought it is the right time to offer little expert advice on how to choose a training program above and beyond your curriculum!

We understand that there are hundreds of these training programs out there claiming a million things about the industry and what-not. We hope that our information will assist you in devising more filter criteria before you invest your money, time, and hope at a place.

# The pricing

Let us get real; any package of training should not cost you your balance! There are many training programs which are available in due rice range, and some of them even offer special discounts to students along with other tailor-made packages for everyone else. Do not settle for any program if it is asking you either much money or is charging a uniform rate for courses!

# Specialization

The software industry is not only about the coding or machine languages; it is more than that. Also, just in case no one told you about this, you do not need to be a software expert to join the industry, even skills such as leadership play a crucial role!

So, before joining any training program, cross-check if it offers the specialization you want to choose rather than choosing from the options they are offering. There are tons of available programs which offer a wide range of specialization to choose from, where you can decide if you want to go into web development or UX/UI designing or maybe project management or anything else for that matter!

# Mentoring

Now, if you are thinking that software training is just about watching videos and learning, take our advice and stick to YouTube!

A training program should be offering you a one-on-one mentoring along with live classes. Live projects to work on, real-life problem solving, and a great environment to learn should be complimented with accessible mentors! It should never be a one-way dialogue and not at all the batch of hundreds! We would advise you to join programs with less number of people in the batch so that you deserve the attention you pay for.

# Job security

Now, let us discuss the essential part of why you began in the first place — the dream job! No training should ignore this part, and if your training does not offer you job security, PLEASE RUN. There are fantastic training programs available which give you job security or at least link your payment with it, so that you do not have to pay till you do not get placed, and that we think is fantastic! Hunt for these programs and do not depend on fate to do its job.

# Only software

As we mentioned, the software industry is more than just coding, so any program which is giving sessions only on coding and programming would not prepare you for the time to come. You will need leadership and communication skills to sail your boat around and a training program you plan to join should offer you this! We wish that these tips helped add to your knowledge and will assist you in making an informed decision! Happy training!
